JENFELDER AU – LIVING BY THE WATER, AT HOME IN NATURE

One of the largest urban development projects east of the Alster was created in Hamburg’s Wandsbek district. The 35-hectare site of a former barracks was converted into a home for more than 2,000 people with townhouses and multi-storey apartments.

The urban design placed particular emphasis on the surroundings and created an oasis of well-being for stressed city dwellers with water features, parks and climbing plants on the façades.

To this end, Carl Stahl developed, supplied and installed a bracket system that can bridge the double-skin, thermally insulated outer shell. The aim was to withstand the forces of plant and wind pressure without allowing movement at the façade exit.

After all, a projection of over 356 mm had to be overcome to allow climbing plants of load class 3 to climb.
