At the Technical Town Hall in Friedrichshafen, the existing building structure was complemented by a cantilevered trellis. Assemblies of stainless steel cables were integrated into the structure in various combinations to provide support for the climbing plants.

Connecting the structure to the existing building posed a particular challenge. Anchors and load-bearing points had to be integrated into both the existing building and the ceiling of the underground car park below.

A total of 820 m of the I-SYS® stainless steel cable system, with cable diameters of 8 and 10 mm, was used. In the upper section, a 145 m² X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh complements the structure and serves as a horizontal fall protection system for cantilevered photovoltaic panels.
